On Bribie Bridge Before A Storm

Over the bridge

White railings are stark

Against storm filled skies

The clouds rise

In plumes of purple, pink, blue and grey

The expansive bouquet

Reflected ominously upon the water

Lightening shards punctuate the sky

Threatening abstract gestures

Under which, even the Glasshouse Mountains

Appear to cower

Living nature melts

Merging into the hostile atmosphere

Awaiting the metamorphosis
