Houseplant

Do you ever feel like a dehydrated

Rubber plant

Droopy

Impossible to miss

Barely living

Misfit of misery

Standing in the corner

Cowering from the sunlight

Dropping big clumsy leaves

All over the floor

Ducking and weaving

Under arched eyebrows

Bracing yourself against

Strong sighs

Thinking…

Will someone please give me a drink.

(this poem is a reflection of my week, which was topped off by a spoken word event in which I trembled, stumbled and felt like said droopy plant. 😦 ) But still you gotta laugh 🙂
