Prayers on the Wind

Underneath the bridge
Below the dark depths of time
A treasure of dreams travel

Whispered wishes unravel
Cast off mumblings

A prayer on the wind
Upon the waves it rests
Whispered wishes unravel
On ethereal currents they sail
Journeying into deep oceans of night

A treasure of dreams travel
Seeking ancestral reply
A prayer on the wind
Caresses our faces as we wait…
Below the dark depths of time

For dverse poets form for all…freeverse disguised! I tried to disguise haiku, tanka or triolet…

  1. this is pretty cool…i rather like the journey from under the bridge…which was a cool hide out back in the day…to a rather led zeppelin feeling on the waves…smiles….see you got me back in the day a bit here…seeking the ancestral reply is cool too…

  2. I really like the last stanza and the last three lines – caressing our faces gentle yet powerful piece of writing. Love how it flows. Pam

  3. Prayers on the wind can be spiritual poohsticks floating off on waves. I do like the poems, esp the triolet!! [which I’ve never heard of before but must try!]
