Storm Chaser

Storm Chaser

You watched

the storm come in from the sea, heard

thunder

roll across jagged spears of light

that never missed

cries of misshapen patterns

so difficult to follow – impossible to ignore

you felt the rain slide off summer – vanishing

much like the ice you traced

across her warm thighs

even when hail smashed through

with more ice than you could handle

it was the taste of her

that  lingered

on the tip of your tongue

For meeting the bar at dverse

What an image! the whole piece is well done, but I really love this stanza.
