Against All Odds

Painting: Against All Odds by Dianne Turner

Winds batter trees

pushing them against their want

forcing them into submission

when they long to stand tall

Hanging in there

the small mangroves leans

against such odds

It has a purpose

holding its ground

in the vast expanse of turbulence

Sensing light touching

its outer extremities

tingeing green with pinpoints of yellow

light bulbs on leaves

flashing the ideal

that you can create your own

For dverse Poets
