It’s a Mad Hatter’s Job Drawing Dice

Getting those dots exact
In one spot… a mad hatter’s teapot,
Pours into a tiny speck of light
3, 2,6,4,5
Balancing twenty in a group of three
Oh and one dot on the side
Ellipsed in shadow hatching
Not quite as toned as I’d like
It’s the way these die are loaded
With a Cheshire cat smile
Slivering on a white dot
One of two on black
Beneath the teapot
Again I pick up my pencil
Make an adjustment
And think who is crazy now
But that’s what is in the roll of the dice
And what is cast between shadows and light
Not all dots join you know
There are teapots and smiles
And I wonder why is the top dice like a cylinder?
